The WA Stage School was established in 1974 by Max and Heather Ogier and has become known as one of Perth’s leading establishments where the art of dance can be studied in an atmosphere of fun and learning. One of our main focuses is for students to learn the art of performance and be free of the pressure of examinations. All classes combine Jazz-Ballet, modern dance, American Rock Jazz, limbering, character studies, performance skills, hip hop and funk and LOTS OF FUN! Many of our students have gone onto successful careers in the world of show business, including roles in musicals such as “Joseph and His Technicolour Dream Coat”, “A Chorus Line”, “South Pacific”, lead dancer roles in resort hotels in many parts of the world, while others have chosen to become dance teachers such as Renae O’Neill who took over the school in 1996 and replaced Max and Heather.
