I was employed as a tiler for a number of years with numerous companies – I must have worked on over 200 bathrooms by now! I loved the work and took great personal pride in the end result. I remember completing my first renovation at a home in Bassendean – it was a great feeling to stand back and admire the wonderful new bathroom I had built. But I began to get frustrated. I saw too many customers left unhappy because no one had taken the time to listen to what they actually needed, or to explain the renovation process. It didn’t seem fair to me how much customers were being overcharged for relatively simple jobs, just because they didn’t know any better. It annoyed me to see colleagues cut corners because they were juggling too many projects at once.
